My online experience with University of Phoenix

A few years back I decided to get a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology. I kept hearing about University of Phoenix so I decided to give them a call. Almost immediately I got hooked up with a counselor who proceeded to explain to me what I needed to do to register. The registration process went very smoothly. In about a month I had started my first online class and on my way to a bachelor’s degree in information technology.
At the beginning of each class you get introduced to the instructor and each student in the class introduces themselves. There is never any more than 12 students to a class. Almost every book I used was downloaded online from the University of Phoenix bookstore. I believe I had to actually get two books mailed to me, an algebra book and a science book.
Each class was five weeks long and very intense. There was an assignment due every week. You really have to focus, because it is 16 weeks of course week from a brick and mortar type setting to a condensed five week course work.
The best thing I liked about the online experience is, although there were deadlines, is that you had the freedom to “attend” class when you wanted to by signing onto your hughesnet internet. If I had a question, I would just post it or email the instructor. The instructors were always very helpful and responded back rather quickly.
My computer is hooked up to hughs net so the downloads were quicker. It was great to be able to watch videos and lectures without any lag time. I was definitely glad that the quality of hughesnet in FL is so good.
I will never attend a brick and mortar classroom again, all of my education will be done online. Especially for the fact that I do not have to listen to an educator give an uninteresting lecture.
